Hungry Monster Project

Have you heard of the Hungry Monster from Weight Watchers? I hadn't until my friend showed him to me! He's on their commercials and he's super cute! Her husband loves this little guy so she asked me to make a stuffed version of him for Easter!

Here is a picture I found of Weight Watchers "Hungry" Monster:

Here's my attempt:

The fabric is not only furry, but it's super duper soft! I wanted to snuggle with him! We had to order the fabric online because no local stores carried it in this color! It was perfect though! I want to make one for myself now!
And to show the size he's next to Bri! He's about 2 1/2 feet tall!

I can totally relate to this "Monster"...he's supposed to be there tempting people to eat things they shouldn't and he pops up everywhere!!!! With this low carb/no sugar diet I'm on I feel like this monster is everywhere! So.......my tricks to surviving the sweet cravings I get?....

A costco package of this: (That's right, a whole costco package (of a different flavor))

A lot of this recently: (My taste buds needed something more than water!!!)

And this......(with some cool whip makes a nice low carb dessert)

The hardest part about this diet is being STARVING all the time....especially in the middle of the night to the point where I can't sleep. So, I'll sneak in a carb free snack at 3 am to last til morning! I have an appointment tomorrow to see what else I can do about being to hungry.

And, this diet has made me lose 2 pounds!!! Ummmm, I thought I was supposed to be gaining a lot here at the end?!?!! I was concerned because I hadn't gained any weight in almost 2 months and now I'm losing it! Normally, that would be great, but not pregnant! My doctor assures me that as long as I'm following the diet I've been giving I'm getting enough nutrition! I sure hope so! And it's funny because I always have a hard time losing weight...and now it's happening when it's not supposed to. I can just see myself gaining weight after the baby's born instead of losing it!!! :)

Well, I'm off to prick my finger for my last blood test of the day! It gets kind of annoying having to eat at the same times every day and test my blood exactly one hour after eating each meal, but I'm glad to have a quick result to make sure I'm eating the right things!!! As long as I'm able to keep this baby healthy, I can do it!

Good job! Keep it up! And great job in the monster. And I can't wait to see pictures of the murals on the baby's nursery walls.

hey erin... that would be super hard for me to be on a low-carb diet. i would starve too! so hard especially when you're pregnant. Luckily you don't have to do it for even a month more. Yay! One of my friends was losing weight in her pregnancy (just a little) and her doctor said it was normal when women eat healthier when they are pregnant. As for me - i gained 5 lbs in a month... which probably shouldn't happen when i'm only this far along! oops... i better stick to sugar free jello too! good luck!

Erin, Your WW Hungry Monster is amazing! I am so impressed by your creativity and skills. I think you could successfully market this on Etsy. I love it!!
Heard about you and your devotion to Wii Fit. Also impressive. Cameron told Kent & me that we need one. (He's so right--we need SOMETHING).
Hang in there at the end. When I was doing the diabetic diet during pregnancy (during the dark ages), they got a little concerned when I started losing weight. Work closely with your docs to be sure that is ok. Maybe you can increase your quantities a bit to stave the hunger and weight loss, as long as you are eating the right foods. Did you think that all those calories you're burning on Wii Fit might allow you to increase your intake a bit?

Looking forward to seeing the new one soon. We are hoping for a very happy delivery for you.

Hang in there! And as long as the baby's growing fine, I wouldn't worry about weight. I've been the same weight for the past 5 weeks. Only 1 to go for me!

That's an awesome monster! And guess what...I just read last night in "What to Expect" (which is ALWAYS right, you know :] ) that it is quite normal to stop gaining, or even to lose weight in the last month of pregnancy. So no worries! :) Except we never stop worrying...I had what I think and hope were Braxton Hicks yesterday and they kinda freaked me out...

You are sooooooooooooooo talented and clever!!! Brianna has some of the cutest clothes and Chad has such a fun Hungry Monster! I enjoyed Easter with your family here. No one made me an Easter dress, but I think that the Hungry Monster was somewhere around here!
