My Craft Outlet

I don't have much time for crafts anymore, but I still try to squeeze them in when I can! It is such a great form of therapy for me! I just need a little alone time and craft time every now and then to cope with life!
I finished this outfit today and I love it! I'm going to be making some fall skirts too! I was in a boutique the other day and Bri was wearing an outfit I had made. It led to me possibly being able to sell some of my stuff there. I just need to bring some samples in of some fall attire and talk with the head boss. Now I just need to find some time to sew some more!I saw this tank top at Walmart for a dollar! It was made for a 24 month old and I wanted to try my hand at shirring so I picked it up! I wanted to upcycle it into a dress or shirt for Miranda.First thing I took the shoulder straps in a little. Then I shirred for the first time. I did several rows on the front and a few short ones on the back to bring it in a little more. I then hand embroidered a little flower on the bottom. I was going to do 3 flowers and use buttons for the middle but I ran out of time! I like how it turned out! I am in the middle of doing another shirt for Miranda that has shirring too. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon so I can share it!

Miranda likes watching the mobile in the bassinet and it was time to move it to the crib! The only problem it had bears on it that don't match her room and one of the bears is missing! I made a little pattern for a bird and used some scraps of fabric that coordinate with the room and have some visual interest for Miranda. She loves it and I'm happy with how they turned out! A quick, simple, fun project!

So so cute! I now exactly what you mean with craft time!!!

So, did you make Bri's dress from scratch? I have seen a pattern (Sandi Henderson) that's similar, but I was just curious. I think I'm going to break down soon and buy some boutique patterns because I LOVE them and don't know how many I can duplicate myself. Anyway, cute stuff!

And how cool would that be to sell your stuff at that store! I don't even know of any boutiques around here!

Okay, so you must have done that from scratch because it is a bit different. I still love it and you are so talented. I haven't been thrilled with the dresses I made the girls--something is always a little off for me, but they work and they like them!

I know what you mean about the craft time, and trying to find the time for it. You are so talented. I am always impressed with your projects.

Sarah, Yes I made it from scratch. I don't usually use a pattern and it's getting easier to see something and be able to duplicate it, but it's never perfect! But hey, it works for me! I love Sandi Henderson's designs!

Love the outfits! And the shirring is very impressive--I love that look, but am not at a sewing level that I'd dare even try.

And the mobile is really cute--I'm getting really into the idea of making our own toys and gifts--need to try out more.

That is so darn cute! Do you think you could give me a shirring lesson sometime? I've been wanting to learn but didn't know who I could ask for help.

That looks great. Hopefully you will be able to sell your stuff at a store. That would be awesome.
