We went back to the GI doctor last week. The good news is that there was no blood in Miranda's diaper when they tested it. The bad news is she had started getting really fussy again when we had gone back to nursing. So they are having us do formula for 2 more weeks, then slowly adding the 2 together to see if she can handle that! That means I have another 6 weeks on the diet until we meet again to see how she's doing! I am sooooooooooo sick of the few foods that I can eat. I don't think I'll want plain chicken and rice or potatoes again when I have another option some day! Most of the time I'm doing okay on the diet but there are just some days when I feel like giving up and eating a piece of pizza or some other naughty food that I am feeling deprived of! I'm holding out for one more week when we start to introduce the breast milk back. If she's still sick I may just consider formula if it seems to help.
A week into this second formula trial she is now starting to act a lot better and even had a few good naps and one good night! This I can handle! Last weekend she screamed for 3 hours straight again...she got so upset that she gagged and threw up! We are at 4 1/2 months and most kids are over the colic but she seems to still have some spells now and then! While doing this formula trial and I am still pumping. I feel like the pump is another part of my body now since I'm attached to it all day long! It takes me about 15 minutes to pump at 5-6 times a day/night to keep up with the bottles Miranda is eating. That is a huge chunk of my day every day and to be honest I'm getting really sick of it! I don't think I've been as good at pumping as often and I wasn't eating very much this week so I lost a few pounds and most of my milk supply! Agghh!
I spend so much time with the pump that I found Bri doing this the other day when I had left my stuff out to deal with a cranky baby! I laughed when she said she was pumping a bottle. She had it all set up right and under her shirt!

Love that pumping shot!
That has got to be so hard. I've never been great at pumping (and #2 decided after 4 months that he wouldn't take a bottle, so I just was stuck with him for the next year, but I'd rather do that anyway than have to pump). But its great that you are trying to do this for her. And also great that at least the formula seems to be helping. Hope you can figure out something that works for all of you.
