Valentine Projects

For Valentine's Day I made Brianna a skirt, a pillow case and a hooded towel. But, I finished them all before Valentine's Day and couldn't wait to give them to her. Here they are completed.

The skirt was altered from the wrap around skirt I made because I didn't have enough fabric to make the full wrap. Unfortunately I made it while she was napping without measuring her and it's a little big in the waist. The ties I made would work fine if she was just a little bit bigger, but apparently in the middle of nursery it fell to her ankles and she was holding it up asking for help!!! It happened again at home that night, she needs to plump up some or I need to measure before I sew! I guess that's what I get for varying the pattern and not checking!
Here's the pillow case! I thought it was finally time she got a big girl pillow instead of using the tiny one I made her a long time ago. (She still prefers to sleep on the small one with this one behind it!) Brianna picked out the fabric and I liked it so much I went and bought 3 more yards yesterday to make matching dresses for the girls. I also bought enough to make a wrap around skirt to sell. If anyone is interested, let me know the size before I just make a 2T and list it in my shop! I will be making others with different fabrics as well!
Lastly, here's the hooded towel. Brianna loves to snuggle on the couch and watch Dora while she dries off from her bath. She gets really cold and hates to get dressed right away. I felt bad with her cold wet head and finally decided to make this! We both love it! I especially love that the couch and pillow aren't soaked when she's done! I didn't take a full shot of the towel, but here are the best photos I have. I took an inexpensive towel and hand towel and made a hood then lined with with another fabric as the binding. I still need to embroider her name on it.

This last picture has to be my favorite! I think this is how she felt about me taking pictures of her just getting out of a bath!!! Then, she gave me 20 great poses after!!!

Oooh oooh oooh, I want more specific directions on making the towel! Nathan's is too small, so I've been wanting to make him a bigger one, but hadn't exerted the effort yet. But if I know how, I'll be more motivated :).

P.S. What kind of fabric do you use to make nursing covers?
