So, Brianna has been paralyzed with fear for the last 3 days! She thought she saw a bear's ears behind the shower curtain and no matter how I explained that bears wouldn't be in our house, or fit in her tub, etc., she was still convinced! She has been so scared that she would rather wet herself, then go into the bathroom alone. She also refuses to get dressed, go to bed, brush her teeth, etc. without someone constantly with her! I was getting frustrated and posted on facebook that I needed ideas on how to help her. She was so scared that she would be shaking and sobbing!
So, with the help of my facebook friends, they came up with the idea to have a "Bear Exterminator" come to our home to make our house rid of bears! I knew Brianna wouldn't believe it unless it was someone she didn't recognize. So, my friend suggested her neighbor. And don't you know that he came to my house this morning!?!?!? Seriously? I have never met the guy, but he put everything he could into his role as the "Bear Exterminator." He dressed the part, brought a bag of his "tools" he needs to get rid of bears. He even printed a "Bear Repellant" sign to put on his epoxy gun. He put on his gloves and told Brianna that he needed to close the bathroom door while he applied the repellant! He was even making little "squirting" sounds like he was really applying the stuff. I was trying so hard not to laugh and I had a huge smile the whole time! He was perfect! He also told Brianna that this repellant worked for the whole neighborhood and it would keep the bears away forever!!! My girls both sat there in awe!!!
Then, he proceeded to pull out another "tool" from his bag. This time it was a little Tweety Bird that chirps when you put your fingers under it! He told her that this really scares the bears and they can hear it from miles away. So, in case she was ever to get worried, she can just make her special bird "tweet" and keep the bears away! Seriously, this guy was awesome! Brianna has kept the little bird with her all day and she keeps using it as told! :)
He then pulled out his "business card" and told her she could call him whenever! How cool is this guy! And to think, he is doing this for people he has never met before! I am seriously stunned that he would put this much into his role!
I had made some "Bear Be Gone" spray that was suggested on facebook, but since this guy was so prepared, I decided to save the "Bear Be Gone" spray in case she needed something extra down the road!
She has been much happier today! We'll see how this goes! I want to thank everyone involved for their ideas and setting this up for us! Here are just a few pics!
Here is the spray bottle I made for her (with just water inside) but we are holding out on using this for now! Maybe that will give me more time to attach the "label" better before she sees it!
With her special Tweety Bird Bear Scarer!
