A "Wicked" Getaway!

For Valentine's this year we celebrated a few weeks later so we could go to San Francisco without the kids! We had so much fun! Chad knew someone that got us a good deal at a really nice hotel in San Francisco. We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel and it was amazing! We both however felt really under dressed and uncomfortable when we saw how nice the hotel was! I knew for sure we didn't belong in this place when I saw a lady step on the elevator with her 2 poodles!!! I was wishing I had been forwarned and gotten a complete make over before coming! We got to wake up to this amazing view of the Bay! Best part of the hotel by far!

First thing on Saturday morning we went and did a session at the Oakland Temple. It is beautiful, but we almost missed the session due to the GPS leading us to several different gates that were not entrances....and with it being on top of a hill we had to wind through lots and lots of neighborhoods to get to it! It was peaceful though and perfect!

Chad got his favorite shrimp sandwich on the wharf! Eating out in public for me however is not as fun due to so many allergies. It's frustrating when they don't have any allergen info and the people don't speak english so well! I did however find out after a half an hour of trying to explain my situation that Chipotle has several things I can eat! It was soooo good!!! Real food that I didn't have to cook! Yum!

Here's my handsome date! Our main reason for going to San Francisco was to see the musical, "Wicked." It was amazing! I have always loved the music but I had never seen it! Our Elpheba wasthe understudy and was simply incredible! I don't even enjoy the cd as much now because I just want to hear her sing it again! My long legged husband also wishes there was more leg room in the theatre and that the tallest girl didn't sit in front of him!

We had a fun weekend and a much needed getaway! With so much going on at work and church we don't get to see eachother often! It was so nice to have this time to ourselves and to reconnect! We owe our friends, the Hulls, big time for watching our girls. Especially since Miranda still isn't sleeping through the night most of the time, or napping well.

I also had a special date with Brianna last week too! We never get to go do anything alone any more and last minute we were able to go to a movie together! We had so much fun, despite how terrified she gets in movies.
(sporting her new "Bling" in this pic!)
Afterwards we stopped at a store in the mall and bought her some new earrings. I have never taken Brianna's earrings out since they were put in when she was 3 months old. She is still so excited about her new earrings and she felt like such a big girl buying them with me! She is still talking about our "special date" and how it was just the two of us! I hope we can do that more often!!

Wow! The Fairmont! I'm glad you enjoyed "Wicked!" It IS amazing how little space they give you in those seats! And what fun for Brianna, to have her special time with you. What a cutie!

That is so great! I am glad you got to get away and have a fun weekend. And I love Brianna's new headband.

What an awesome weekend!! Bri's picture is perfect. I think her eyes sparkle more than her new earrings!
