Gluten Free Playdough

When Brianna has come in contact with something she's allergic to she breaks out in rashes and hives. Usually a small rash starts on her cheek, and several spots on her trunk and legs break out with rashes and hives. Usually a few days later her nose starts to run and then the rash never goes away! So, after some exposure to gluten last week her face looks awful!!! Add a runny nose that has been wiped over the rash for a few days and we have one sad girl. She cries because of her cheek pain! So, today we made Gluten Free playdough and she LOVED it. I got the recipe here. (It took me less than 30 min in the crock pot when I halved the recipe.)She literally played for hours building temples, making veils for her princesses to get married, etc. Here is a close up of her poor cheek! I'm so glad she can play safely with playdough again!

So is she! I never imagined my child using the words "allergies," "gluten free" and "You can have that, it'll make you sick!" so much in her pretend play!

She really has been a trooper about the whole thing! I couldn't ask for her to be easier with this very limited diet she's on! Her sister on the other hand is yelling for any food that people have...and most of the time she's allergic to it! She won't stop screaming til she gets what she wants or you distract her with something else!!!

What recipe did you use? I have only used the one from the Special Diets for Special Kids book.

Aubrey, I added the website to my post where I found the recipe. I really like it, it feels like normal hand made playdough!
