Miranda Panda 4 Months

I am sorry for the blogging absence! I have been out of town and without the internet for almost 2 weeks! I have so much to catch up on...here's a beginning. I can't believe our little Panda is already 4 months old! Time seems to have flown by so much faster with our second child than it did with our first!
Just over 2 weeks ago I took Miranda back to the GI doctor because she still wasn't doing well. They found more blood in her diapers. This was after more than 3 weeks on the diet. We did a 2 week trial of a special hypoallergenic formula to see if it would help her tummy to heal. She seemed much happier. I pumped the entire 2 weeks so we could continue to nurse after the trial was over. I did nurse during the traveling and she was fussy the next day. Now, after a few days of nursing again I have my super fussy baby back!!! (She was wailing so loudly and painfully that I had a line of people in the aisle on the airplane to see what was going on! Lovely, all I need is some more attention when flying alone with 2 girls! )
I am so frutrated! I have hardly eaten a thing the last 5 weeks and I've been very careful not to cheat and she's still sick! I also haven't lost any more weight since the first week!!! Can't I at least have one good thing come from this crazy diet?!?! I would prefer a happy baby, but some weight loss would be nice too!! Anyway, I have really wanted to nurse this baby for lots of reasons. Mostly because it is more likely to help her overcome her allergies some day. But, after doing some research I've found out that this formula can cost up to $800 a month!!!! Who has that kind of money to feed their infant? I'm hoping to get ahold of my insurance company to see if they'll cover any of it if I end up getting a prescription for it. I have another GI appointment on Thursday and I'm interested to see if they'll take more food out of my diet or if they have something else planned.
Recently Miranda has learned to roll over. Now any time I set her on her back she flips to her tummy! She had rolled from her tummy to her back a few times before this, but hasn't done it since. She is also LOVING her exersaucer. It is so nice to be able to put her down for a few minutes and get something done or spend some time with Bri. Miranda is also in the "everything I can get my hands on must immediately go to my mouth" stage! She's starting to be a lot of fun...that is when she's not fussing from so much tummy pain!!!

I am so sorry! I hope they figure out something with that poor baby (and you!!) or that she magically feels better soon!

I'm sorry, too, to hear that you're going through all of that! She's looking more like a little girl than a baby! What a cutie!

I'm so sorry to hear about that. I wish there was a magical (aka:easy) answer to fix things. It's got to be hard on the both of you. And $800/month is absolutely insane. Someone is taking advantage of desperate mothers with a price like that.

She is adorable! I'm sorry about the feeding issues though. Hope they get resolved soon!

Uggh, feeding kids with allergies is difficult. I hope you are able to figure something out without spending $800 a month. That's insane. At 4 months I took Carson off of breast milk and put him on formula. I felt really guilty about making the transition but after I did the whole family was happier.

Wow Erin, that's rough. I'm so sorry. It is hard to see your kids in pain! Good luck!
