A week after finding out I had Gestational Diabetes I finally heard from the center that is supposed to help me out and figure out this diet. Unfortunately I still have to wait for Tuesday for my 3 HOUR appointment. Hopefully I'll have a better handle on what I'm suppose to be eating and doing. I know that I have to limit my carbs and no sugars, but I also have to eat at the same times each day and measure my blood sugar levels, which I can't do without the glucose meter! I got frustrated to find I out I had something we needed to deal with and then not get any help on it for so long! Hopefully we'll figure this out!
Because of the Gestational Diabetes I have to have Antenatal stress tests done 2 times a week at the hospital! That's right, 2 times every week until the baby comes!!!! On top of that I will have to meet with the Diabetic center at least weekly and then there are my regular doctors appointments that will go to a weekly visit in the next week or so! How in the world am I supposed to find child care for a minimum of 4 doctor's visits each week!!!!!????!!!! I am suddenly feeling really busy!
I did have my first antenatal stress test yesterday and the baby looked great, so we'll keep hoping for good numbers! It is nice to have the baby checked so often when you suddenly have something to worry about.
Potty training update! Bri is doing pretty good most days. In fact, she doesn't have too many accidents these days, but then there are days where that's about all we have too! She loves "lollipops" and I got his huge one at Enrichment last week! I told her she could have it if she filled up her potty puzzle and stayed dry for 2 days! She was so excited when she got it. And no, I didn't let her eat the whole thing, I set a timer and she had free reign on it til then! She was super excited about her "Huge lollipop!!!!" Whatever works, right?
I also have worked on tons of projects lately but just haven't gotten around to taking the pics. Here is a diaper bag I made for the baby, and I love how it turned it! It actually makes me more excited for the baby! I also made a moby wrap that I'll show pics of once there's a baby in it! And I made a crib skirt for the crib. I've been busy and there is still so much more to do!!!

cute diaper bag!
I can totally watch Bri once in a while...it wouldn't be a problem at all! And maybe you could swap and watch Mason sometime so I can get a break...
I had a friend with GD and she complained just like you are! It's definitely not fun, but at least you only have a couple months!
The diaper bag is so scrumptious! I seriously need to learn how to sew!
I LOVE that diaper bag. Great job!
Wow, that's a ton of appointments. Hang in there.
Sorry, that is way too busy I am sure with what you already have on your plate. I am available every Monday- not sure if you can schedule one that day or not- but it is my only certain day at home each week. I would love to watch her!
Cute diaper bag.
We would love to watch Bri! PLEASE call ANYTIME! We need friends over here... still a little hard to get out for a long time. El would love the playmate... soooo bored until school starts.
holy cow, I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the appts I have (for me or baby) in the next few months but it's nothing like what you have to do! Hopefully it'll help the time pass at least!
And I LOVE the diaper bag! I need a cute one and never made it before the baby came and well... crafting is not at the top of my list right now. :) It turned out great!
Erin...Hang in there with Gestational Diabetes...When I get prenant I know I will have tons of appointments since I have diabetes.
Just as a heads up, you can get free testers through promotional deals off of the internet. I got this one free a couple months ago. Here is the website: https://www.onetouchgold.com/simplestart/
Feel free to email me if you have any questions about diabetes...As someone who has had it for over 14 years, I have learned to live with it. At least its short term! :)
Sorry about the diabetes - that stinks! Good luck!
I would also be more than happy to watch Bri sometimes if you need it. I am a stay at home mommy so I am available most of the time.
Also, I love the diaper bag. You are so talented!
Fyer! Sorry to hear about the GD. At least you're getting close to the end, right? Feel free to ship Bri out anytime!
