Gestational Diabetes

I just got some stinky news! I had another blood glucose test on Tuesday that lasted for 3 hours!!! It was horrible to fast for that long and have them keep sticking me with needles but I wasn't worried about the results. But, I just got a call from the doctor and I have Gestational Diabetes! Yuck! I'll be getting a call from another doctor to do at least weekly visits for the duration of the pregnancy. I'm not sure exactly what's in store for me, but I know it will be involved and lots of changes. And you know what? I know I won't be able to eat any treats any more and that part seems to be the hardest for me right now, how silly is that?

Oh I'm so sorry! My mom had that with me. And my oldest brother just found out two days ago that he has diabetes...not fun:( I hope everything goes well for you and the baby!

Bummer! I hope the diet isn't TOO bad. At least you only have a couple months left right?

The best part about pregnancy is getting to eat all the tasty foods.. Sorry :( I feel for you.

So sorry Erin! Bad timing about the no sweets too since it's cadbury egg season. :(

That's crummy! It's not silly at all... good luck! And save some of that Easter candy for after the baby comes :).

You can send me all your Easter candy--that's what sisters are for. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice is all we do :)

Yuck! I was afraid that I had it too, but all I have so far is low iron. So I've been taking pills and finding excuses to go out for steak. :) Hope the diet isn't too horrible, and that the rest of the pregnancy goes by FAST!

I'm very sorry to hear that you'll have to give up treats for a while!!! But isn't it nice to have a considerate sister like Emily?! I haven't commented much, but I LOVE being able to keep up on what's happening with you all on your blog. Brianna's such a cutie, Chad's such a handsome guy, and you're many good things, and especially a wonderful seamstress!!!
