Chad has never made a ginger bread house before!!! I couldn't believe it! I was so excited to do this for our family home evening and due to being overwhelmed this season we bought a kit! We planned on making it for Family Home Evening. We didn't realize the house had to dry for an hour before you could add the roof and then another 2-3 hours before you could add anything else! So, for FHE Chad built the house and a small shack for Bri (with a little assistance from me). The next night Bri and I decorated it while Chad was at the Young Men's activity!
Brianna really enjoyed it, but mostly just wanted to eat the candy, and eat it she did!!! While I was making another batch of frosting I found Brianna licking the houses!!! Anyone want some after that?
Usually I am a perfectionist and work really hard to make "artistic" things look just right. This night I was having issues with the frosting in the bag and just started slapping frosting and candy on as fast as I could! Mostly so more candy could end up on the house and less would end up in Brianna's mouth! I was proud of myself for being able to leave it half done and messy looking!!! Unfortunately I struggle with things like that and end up putting way too much energy into things!
The candy monster!!! Brianna's gingerbread shack!

I love the shack! Eating the candy is the best part.
We probably should have let ours dry for a couple hours. I haven't updated our blog with pictures yet, but ours was a disaster...all fell apart and even broke in half :(
