Phoenix

We made our trip across the country and we are safe and sound in Sacramento. Brianna was an angel and traveled really well. This first leg of the trip was 26 hours straight to Phoenix. Chad was great and drove most of the night, and most of the trip! That first leg of the trip Brianna didn't cry or fuss at all! What a blessing. We then spent several days in Phoenix visiting with Chad's extended family. He has his maternal grandparents there and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Bogey also came with us and he was great in the car. He is now living with Chad's grandparents and we hope he's attaching himself to them and that he's less anxious about us being gone!

We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone. We spent a good amount of time at Chad's cousin Jared's house with his wife, Sylvia, and their two daughters, Natalie and Kirsten. Brianna played a lot with Natalie who is 5 months older than Bri. We also spent some time visiting with the Kaufman's. We sure enjoyed seeing everyone!

We left for Sacramento on Wednesday morning and drove for 12 hours! We spent all weekend house hunting and finally got one this morning. We'll head over to sign the rental agreement this afternoon! We are staying with the sweetest lady, Dorothy. She is the mother of some of our friends in Memphis and she has been more than kind. We are staying in our own little "suite" in the house and it has been wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We feel truly blessed. We were having a difficult time finding a decent home in a decent neighborhood for an affordable price. It's simple to find a big dump or a really nice home that's way too expensive, but the in between stuff is rare here. We found a home that is only 1 mile from Chad's office!!! Yeah! It also is in a good neighborhood and close to almost any store you can imagine! We're looking forward to moving in the next few days and settling in!

Congrats with your move. Glad it all went smoothly and you found a place to live. It is stressful not having a place of your own. Hope you get settled in quickly.

What a blessing to have a calm and happy child while travelling across country. And how great to have found a house so quickly and easily, and to have it just one miles from CHad's office! How great is that?! Post more pictures of your place and all the great things around you!

We're so glad you made it! And even gladder that Bri was good on the ride. After our holiday travels, I don't ever want to roadtrip again!

I can only dream about having a 1 mile commute. It's great that your travels went well, that you have a wonderful hostess in Sacramento and that you have found a home!

I am glad you made it to California! Now you are much closer to Vegas! Good luck with your new area!

So glad to hear you're there. I know what you mean about finding an "in-between" house. Those are always the most in demand and hardest to find! It would be so much easier if we were all just millionaires!

Yay! Congrats on a great find! We love our ward and complex and area in general, but I'm really sad about the length of Curt's commute. Sigh. His busy season begins in earnest today...yikes. Anyway, yay yay yay, I'm excited to see pics, and hope Bri is having fun exploring her new house (what are the specs? # of rooms, etc.).
