Christmas!

Now that it's the New Year I realized I should probably post our Christmas pictures! We have been really busy packing up our house to pack the moving truck tomorrow! As I keep packing I'm surpised at how much stuff you collect over time! Anyway, here's a quick post and pics from Christmas!
For Christmas Eve we had dinner and played name that christmas tune with Chad's family. We then came home and talked to Bri about the nativity with her Fisher Price Nativity set. This was our first time having our own little Christmas Eve and Christmas morning as a family! In the morning Bri ate and I asked her if she wanted to open presents. She got wide eyed and shook her head yes! I didn't know she understood that! She had a lot of fun opening presents, but was particularly interested in a tiny doll that was less than a dollar! She wouldn't let go of it to unwrap anything else! Oh, the littlest things make them happy! We bought an unfinished rocking chair for her and painted it white. She loves it and rocks in it all day with her babies! Her Langstraat Grandparents got her a stroller that she loves to push her dolls in! And my parents got her some puzzles that she loves and is surprisingly better at than I anticipated! Chad was surprised as he realized this is his first Christmas (and birthday which was on the 28th) in which he received books! And I think he got 5!!! He loves to read now, but several years ago he would never have been caught reading! If he's not watching basketball or football, you'll find his nose in a book!
Anyway, it was a fun Christmas morning at our house! We joined Chad's family in the early afternoon to exchange gifts between each other and for the grandkids to open their presents from the grandparents. Bri had a little bit of a hard time, because she wanted to play with everyone else's stuff...and who likes to share their new toys? :) We had a nice dinner and I took Bri home for a much needed nap. Later on I enjoyed a movie with some family! It was a nice Christmas, and as soon as it was over, we were quick to pack it all up!
I can't wait until this move is over and we're in a new place and unpacked! It's so stressful. I'm supposed to have the Sister Missionaries over for dinner tonight, but my kitchen is all packed up! Looks like we may be ordering our food in!

I just can't get over Brianna's pigtails! What a little sweetie! And you're a Saint for having the missionaries for dinner amidst the chaos of moving! Safe travels to CA.

Such cute pictures. Good luck moving. I can't say that I envy you. I hate moving. Stop by Nevada for a break if you like!

I hope the move went well. Let us know how it went! Moving is the worst! Ella got the same baby doll as Bri for Christmas, except it's purple. So cute!

Looks like you guys have a fun Christmas! I am so sorry about getting my brother's email to you...I totally forgot with the Holiday season etc. Anyway, it is probably way too late to do any help, since I think you have already moved. I apologize! My brother and his wife live in Discovery Bay, so I am not sure he would know much about where you are moving, but if you are still interested here is my brother and sister-in-law's email address...kevinamymartin@sbcglobal.net
