The Big One!

Brianna turned 1 on Thursday! We were in Little Rock on her birthday so we celebrated on Saturday with Chad's family and our friend, Ganesh! She had a lot of fun! You'll get way too much overload of Brianna from these photos and videos, but I didn't feel like picking just a couple!


We had a pink polka dot theme and I made my first cake with fondant! I made two cakes for the number of people that were coming. Because fondant isn't all that tasty, I made a chocolate frosting on one of the cakes! Bri loved her cake! We're thankful to all of the people that came to help us celebrate!


Here is a list of things about Brianna now that she's 1! (I can't believe I have a one year old!)
1. She LOVES phones and remotes and gets really upset if she can't have them. Whenever I'm on the phone I have to go to another room or she'll keep signing "phone" and get more upset the longer the conversation goes and she can't hold it! She won't go for an old phone or a play one either!
2. She has 25 signs! She communicates really well with me and can let me know exactly what she wants most of the time!
3. She loves to learn. She wants me to label everything and point out the things in a room that match the picture in the book!
4. She loves books and will turn the pages and point to pictures all day long!
5. She has a word for book, drink, dog, duck, balloon and uh oh. (she only says the "Uh,uh!" instead of uh oh!) None of the words are very clear, but I know what she's saying. Every once in awhile she'll say "yeah!"
6. She's finally babbling! She'll say lots of consonants now! We hear a lot of mama, and dada, baba and other combinations of sounds. She started saying "ok" the other day, but I don't know if she really meant to or not! It was cute!
7. Brianna is a social butterfly! Whenever we are out she tries to make friends with everyone. She will play with people at the stores and wave to random strangers! She's starting to act shy every once in awhile, but quickly looks back to play with the person!
8. She finally started crawling on her hands on knees, but not until after she started walking! She loves to practice walking from room to room in the house! She thinks she's so big!
9. She loves playing with our dogs and looking for them outside of the window! She's starting to feed them and got really upset the other day when Copper got her bagel! She was thinking she would get it back!
10. Brianna is quick to smile and we love having her in our home! She's such a happy little girl!
We have her one year appointment tomorrow and I'll give you stats then!
