Soccer Team

Boy am I exhausted! I just came back from my first soccer game of coaching the 4-5 year olds! It has been really fun, but this first game was crazy! They'll get the hang of it and things will get better I'm sure. Brianna was screaming on the sidelines because she missed her nap to be there, she was getting hungry, and it was soooooooo HOT (and she wanted me)! What happened to Spring? It feels like the middle of the summer here! Anyway, I finally took Brianna and carried her on the field while I was chasing my soccer team. My sister-in-law was trying to take care of her while her son kept leaving the soccer field wanting to be with her. I felt so bad to add more to her plate.
So, here I am with a baby in arms that wants to drink my water bottle and I'm chasing the kids that just keep running and running with the ball way after the referee has blown the whistle and they're on the next field over. They just get so excited to touch the ball and they forget what's going on! I have quite the list of things to work on at our next practice!
It has been a fun challenge, but a challenge for sure. My nephews Ethan and Chandler are on the team, which is why I was recruited.
Alicia took the pictures. One is of Bri sweating and beat red from the heat, she's drinking from my water bottle. (Right now it is hotter for this time of year than it has been since 1910.) The other picture is of some of our team playing...and I'm out there! Can you see me? Or am I too short and blending in with the kids?

I didn't know you were a soccer coach. It is pretty cool that you are involved in the soccer league. When I was a senior in High School I coached my little sisters 10 year-old basketball team. It was a lot of fun. I was a proud coach as my team made it to the championship game. They ended up placing 2nd, but hey not to bad for having an amateur coach.
