Canoe Trip

Erin and I volunteered to be leaders on the annual Priest and Laurel canoe trip. We got to the church parking lot a few minutes before 7am and returned home later that evening about 8pm. It was a rather long day that consisited of driving about 5 hours and conoeing for 10 miles.

The highlight for both of us had to be the cliff diving. It was great for me because I got to play with the kids and be my crazy self. It was a highlight for Erin because I didn't die. The first clif was probably 30 ft tall. I found it amusing that as the priests were looking over the edge at the water below, I went running past them and dove off head-first. They all thought I was nuts. It was worth the reprimand I got at the bottom from my sweet little wife for diving. The next cliff was probably 50ft tall. When I jumped off it felt like I was never going to hit the water. All in all it was a fun trip... no one got hurt with more than a blistering sunburn.
