Nothing makes me more upset than to see my kids very ill. Miranda got a high fever after church on Sunday but after a priesthood blessing and a good night's sleep it went away. For the next few days though she had some questionable diapers (which is really common with her due to the FPIES syndrome). Tuesday afternoon she had really foul diapers and I started to worry! After trying to get her to eat her dinner she started throwing up! It is now Thursday evening and it still hasn't stopped. Our big dilemna is that Chad's new insurance doesn't kick in until midnight tonight. ER visits in the past have been about $1500. With the new insurance I think it will be closer to $100....so I've been holding off! I've been pushing fluids and have seen a few wet diapers now, so I'm not as worried, but she has been pretty lethargic today. She's been sleeping on the family room floor for the past 2 days!
This morning when I couldn't get the vomiting to stop I posted on our church facebook page and had a few men over to give her a blessing shortly thereafter. I felt a little silly doing that, but it was also amazing to me how quickly we could get the help we needed via the internet. My friend Emily is an ER nurse and came over to check on Miranda. Her advice was to push fluids and go to the ER if she doesn't improve. She hasn't thrown up for a few hours....so I'm crossing my fingers that she's on the mend! Poor little thing!
