Flying Beads

Last week Brianna had her first experience with a foreign object in her nose! She swears this purple bead just flew up there, but I think we all know better! Besides, the bead was rather big! I had been trying to get Miranda to sleep when I heard Brianna screaming! I came out to see what the problem was and she was sobbing that something was in her nose! I looked up and could clearly see a purple bead!!! I tried to work it out, tried the CPR thing (blowing in her mouth while plugging the other nostril), had her blow her nose a gillion times and it wouldn't budge! She was so uncomfortable and you could see a bump on her face from where the bead was pushing against her nose. We went to the doctor and it still wouldn't budge, so we had to wait til the next day when an ENT could see her! Daddy made it "silly" that a bead was in her nose so that she wouldn't be upset! She then thought it was hilarious that she got to sleep with it still in there! Thankfully the next morning, after an hour wait, the ENT was able to get it out! Brianna of course wanted to keep the bead and played with it the rest of the day, careful not to let it fly up her nose again! :) Moral of the story, "Watch out for flying beads!"

I really enjoy your website and want to take a moment of your time to inquire about any guest posting opportunities that you may have on your blog. I've written an informational and educational article on the importance of early childhood education that I believe your readers of The Langstraats Blog would be interested in.

Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Awesome story. Foreign objects up the nose=childhood rite of passage.
